By the time Adam followed the noise to see what was going on, it was already too late. Jason had stormed out into the night. I called his phone over and over, but he didn’t answer, and eventually, my calls stopped going through. I was worried sick, but Adam reassured me, saying, “He’ll be back by morning, don’t worry. He just needs to cool off.” Well, let me tell you – he was absolutely wrong about that.

Feeling uneasy
I stumbled back inside, a mix of uneasy emotions swirling inside me. Why wasn’t he answering his phone? Where could he possibly be? My mind raced with questions as Adam stood beside me, gripping his phone tighter with each call. Each one rang and then went straight to voicemail, a sinking feeling growing with every unanswered attempt. We had no answers, and the silence on the other end seemed to echo all our fears and worries.
