Long, sleepless night
Sitting on the couch, I couldn’t shake the feeling that we had pushed Jason too hard this time. As the night dragged on, Adam eventually fell asleep right there next to me. Meanwhile, I stayed awake, straining to listen for any sounds through the night that might signal Jason’s return. It was all I could do to keep myself from spiraling into constant worry, fearing the worst with every passing hour.

Long, Sleepless Night
Early morning and vacant rooms
As the first streaks of morning light filtered through the curtains, Jason was still nowhere to be found. The house felt empty without him. I decided to check his room, and to my dismay, I noticed that his suitcase was gone. That’s when it hit me—he’d taken it when he left. I could feel the tears welling up, but I fought them back, desperately hoping it didn’t mean what I feared it did.
