The fate of the capybara mother
“Where’s their mother?” asked Kayla, her voice shaky and full of concern. The vet and the animal control officer exchanged glances before the officer answered softly. “Often, mothers are left behind or… worse,” he said, with a tone of regret. Kayla’s heart sank at the thought of what might have happened to the capybaras’ mother. Erica, sensing her daughter’s anguish, hugged her tightly, sharing her fear and uncertainty about the capybara mother’s fate.

A new mission
All attention was now focused on the welfare of the baby capybaras. “We’ll make sure they receive the best care and try to find them a suitable home,” said the animal control officer, with a tone of commitment. Kayla looked up, determined. “We want to help,” she declared firmly. Erica, next to her, nodded in full agreement, ready to support her daughter’s mission. What had begun as an accidental discovery was now turning into a deep commitment to the future of these rare creatures.
