Partial confession
When confronted, he admitted to lying about his trips but refused to tell the whole truth. ‘Yes, I wasn’t always where I claimed I was,’ he admits reluctantly. ‘But it’s not as you imagine.’ His ambiguity simply made me more frustrated. ‘Then tell me what it actually is,’ I challenged. He dodged my questions, leaving me with more questions than answers.

Breaking the engagement
Frustrated, I vowed to end the engagement, expecting it would force a confession. I yelled, “I can’t marry someone who isn’t honest with me.” His eyes widened in fear as he attempted to clutch my hand. ‘Please don’t do this,’ he pleaded. But I couldn’t stay in the dark any longer. ‘Tell me the truth or it’s over,’ I said, my determination strengthening.
