She had misinterpreted my words, believing I was criticizing and judging her parenting, because of a few comments I had made, without thinking. “I never meant to judge her,” I murmured, my heart heavy. Michael nodded, his gaze imbued with understanding. “I tried to explain it to her, but she’s very sensitive about it. She thought it best to keep the children away to avoid any conflict.” A sigh escaped my lips, the weight of my involuntary words overwhelming me. “We need to talk about this,” I declared in a firm voice. “It’s the only way forward.”

The children, caught in the crossfire, were lost, not understanding the real reasons for their estrangement. “They’re so confused,” Michael admitted, his voice trembling with emotion. “They miss you, but they don’t understand why they can’t see you.” My heart clenched as I heard this. “We have to solve this problem for their sake,” I replied, determination taking over. We both agreed that it was essential to approach Linda delicately, to pave the way for a sincere conversation. The goal was to mend the family rift and bring the grandchildren back into our lives, for their happiness and for the unity of the family.
