My neighbor said this
One afternoon I ran into my neighbor, Mrs. Jenkins, who casually mentioned that she had seen my grandchildren at the park last weekend. “They looked so happy playing there,” she said with a smile, not realizing the stab wound she was stabbing into my heart. I forced a smile and nodded, but inside, my insides were writhing in pain. There they were, so close and yet so far away.

My Neighbor Said This
My heart sank
My heart sank; they were so close, and yet they seemed so far away. It was unbearable to realize that they had been so close, without even visiting me. I could almost hear their laughter in the wind, see their faces in the shadows of the trees. The loneliness became all the more poignant, knowing that they were close at hand but totally out of reach. The need for answers intensified, driving me to take matters into my own hands.
