The officer examined the old man closely and observed that his face bore the same horrific expression. The man’s face bore no resemblance to that of the person who had talked to him earlier. Walter was still trying to talk, but he was finding it even harder than just a moment ago. His body was gradually becoming limp in the passenger seat as he spoke unclearly. The officer promptly asked for an ambulance to be dispatched to their location. While he spoke to the distressed woman, trying to keep her calm as tears streamed down her face, he stayed by Mary and Walter’s side.
