As she sat in the back of the ambulance, tears adorned Mary’s face. In the blink of an eye, a trip that was supposed to be one of their regular Saturday morning outings transformed into a living nightmare. As she gazed out the window, the wailing of the sirens was overwhelming. As she wondered how everything could have gone so wrong, she closed her eyes and a loud sob escaped her lips. Would Walter be okay? The mere presence of that question struck fear into the old woman.

Upon their eventual arrival at the hospital, Walter was taken away for various tests while Mary remained in anticipation of answers. While the hours passed, she called their relatives and explained the situation. During all that time, she prayed for the well-being of her one true love. It was unimaginable for her to go through even one day without him next to her. Being with Walter brought her the greatest joy.
