Mel Brooks – 98-Years-Old, Blazing Saddles
It’s remarkable that comedian and director Mel Brooks has kept working steadily since the 1950s. Brooks began as a writer for Sid Caesar’s variety show Your Show of Shows, but it quickly became clear that he was destined for more. Before long, NBC gave him his own series, leading to the creation of the hit parody Get Smart. Less than a decade later, he was directing iconic comedies like Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. Recently, Brooks has been expanding his $100 million net worth by adapting his successes, like The Producers and Young Frankenstein, into hit Broadway musicals. Even at 94, he shows no sign of slowing down—he was recently featured in an HBO documentary and will lend his voice to the upcoming animated film Blazing Samurai, inspired by Blazing Saddles.
Robert Fuller – 91-Years-Old
When Robert Fuller first began acting professionally in the 1950s, he was only able to land small roles. His first significant film role was in Teenage Thunder, and in the 1960s, he rose to fame as a TV actor. He starred in Western series such as Laramie and Wagon Train. Fuller appears to have decided to retire from Hollywood after his final performance in Walker, Texas Ranger in 2001. He relocated to a ranch in North Texas in the middle of the 2000s, and since he is now a horse rancher, he spends the majority of his time there.
