James Monroe – 138.6

Did you know that James Monroe was in office between 1817 and 1825? This founding father was the 5th President of the United States. He used to be a popular choice for the position and he won the election by a landslide. His time in office was later dubbed the “Era of Good Feelings”. Monroe fought during the American Revolutionary War and he became famous for “The Monroe Doctrine”, his foreign policy. Since he had an IQ of 138.6, Monroe just edged George W. Bush for the third-lowest score. All the same, a score of 138.6 doesn’t make him a slouch, either. It’s considered “very superior” intelligence, according to the Wechsler IQ classification.

Andrew Johnson – 138.9

After Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, Andrew Johnson became president. However, he became the first President of the United States to be impeached. The reason for this being his plans to restore the seceded states to the Union without granting protection to former slaves. This plan came under fire in Congress. To top it off, his IQ was only 138.9.
