Doubts and Police Skepticism
I expected to find tranquility away from home, yet worry followed me like a shadow. We contacted the local police and hoped for a quick response. Unfortunately, they were doubtful, claiming that no laws had yet been breached. It felt dismissive, as if we were just dreaming everything. With no physical evidence and their doubts reverberating in my head, we recognized our route to understanding required more than simply calling the authorities.
Evidence or Just Paranoia?
We told the detective everything—every worry, every unusual occurrence. Perhaps it wasn’t enough to justify quick action, given that he claimed there was nothing negative about our discovery. His statements felt like a dismissal, leaving us with more questions than answers. The implications of what we discovered, albeit subtle in nature, loomed huge in our minds. We knew it wasn’t simply our imagination, but proving it was another story entirely.
