Setting The Surgery Date
With everything agreed upon, I spoke to Dr. Lewis about scheduling the surgery. We decided the following morning would be best, giving us both peace of mind. The decision felt heavy but right. As I left the vet, the weight of the situation hit me. The Labrador and I now had a clear path forward, and while it was daunting, knowing there was a plan in place gave me some comfort as I headed home.
Sleepless Night
That night, sleep felt like a distant concept. Tossing and turning, my mind was consumed with thoughts of the little brown Labrador. What if it wasn’t just a routine surgery? Every hour seemed to stretch on endlessly as worry gnawed at my insides. Rest felt impossible; my heart was too tied to a tomorrow that hadn’t even arrived yet. The waiting was truly the hardest part of it all.
