A Breath of Relief
As I sat in the car, the Labrador let out a soft whimper. I gently patted its head, reassuring it that everything would be okay. It didn’t seem bothered by the car at all. In fact, it appeared a little relieved to be off its feet. I couldn’t help but wonder how long it had been out there. The way it settled down, resting its head on the seat, was a comforting sign.
Cautious Journey
With the dog in the car, I drove slowly and carefully, not wanting to make any sudden moves that might scare it. Every now and then, I glanced back to check on how it was doing, though the swollen face still weighed on my mind. I focused on driving as smoothly as possible, my thoughts lingering on the vet and what they might say about the situation.
