We’ve all been there…and it’s the reason why we’re always late. We might say we’re already on our way, but we’ve actually been standing in our towels looking at our closets for a million hours, just staring. If we stare long enough and try on enough items, we’re hoping the magic outfit will pop out and surprise us. But we’ve literally worn everything a million times and are sick and tired of every single item. Unfortunately, college students can’t really afford the luxury of shopping for a new closet every week. So we’ve done our homework and scouted out some smarter ways of shopping. So, check out these tips to revamp your wardrobe without breaking the bank.
Shop Your Closet
You might not realize it, but you’ve probably been staring at the first ten items all season. If you take all these out, you’ve probably got oodles of amazing clothes buried at the bottom of your closet, waiting patiently to be re-discovered. And you did once love them when you first bought them, but they slowly got buried in the ever-growing pile. Well it’s time to go vintage and give your old favorites a new lease of life. It’s actually quite sentimental finding your old favorite scarf or that pair of jeans that you missed for so long, and your college friends will all compliment you on your new, ‘vintage’ outfits.
Clothes Swap
Another top tip for thrifty students is to find all the clothes you just can’t face wearing again, or that don’t fit you and put them in a bag. Then ask all your friends and friends of friends to arrange a clothes swapping party. They do say one person’s treasure is another person’s gold. So you can reinvent your style with your friends’ clothes and they can do the same with yours. It’s win-win. Another cheeky option is to borrow and share items with your room mate, or with your family.
Wait For The Sales
Another top tip is to look out for any discount codes online or wait for the sales. There’s something so satisfying about finding some expensive-looking items for a bargain. If you really do dig around, you might find some hidden gems, without breaking your budget.
Get Creative And Find New Ways to Wear Items
This is your chance to shine and let your creative juices flow. You can instantly revamp an old, boring or plain outfit by changing up your accessories, like a scarf, necklace or cute jacket. Try to mix and match your usual outfits and you can totally pretend to your friends that you’ve bought it new.
Happy shopping guys!
