Take Care With Antibiotics
Antibiotics are bacteria fighting drugs but they can damage your kidneys when they are used too often. It can occur even if you are healthy, but it is more serious for people whose kidneys are not working well. Some kinds of antibiotics, such as sulfonamides, penicillin, and cephalosporins, are the ones that often cause problems.
Get Screened
It’s really important to know if you are at risk for kidney disease. If you or your close relatives have high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, or a family member who has had kidney failure, you have a higher chance of developing kidney disease. Your doctor might suggest some kidney tests to be part of your regular checkup. It is best if you catch it soon, since it’s easier to treat at this point, and sometimes even cure.
