It Was Not A Common Fissure
At first, Ramirez and her colleague assumed that bugs ate part of the statue and lived inside of it. It was a wooden piece, so it would not have been surprising if this were the case. To her surprise, this was not what was actually going on. All of a sudden, it dawned on her that it was more significant than that.
The Restorers Were All Experts
It is not new for Ramirez and the team to work on old pieces such as this one. They worked at the Da Vinci Restauro company. It is based in the Spanish capital of Madrid. For two decades or so, the team has worked on the restoration of artworks that has special significance.
