Amy Poehler may be a top-tier comedian, but she was also once on top of the cheer pyramid! The legend of SNL cheered and sang for Burlington High School in Massachusetts. She then went to Boston College and eventually went to Chicago, where she learned not only to make cheers but to laugh as well.

Danielle Brooks is famous for her lead role in Orange Is the New Black, but back in high school, she was actually a member of her high school cheer squad. Eventually, because the short skirts made her feel uncomfortable, she left the team. She wrote about her experience on her blog later on by saying, “Never quit anything again because you’re scared of what others might think of you – unless you become an exotic dancer, the only exception. But even then, only quit because you want to.”
