Allan Melvin (Sam Franklin)
This actor was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 18, 1923. He is best known for starring in shows like The Brady Bunch, Flash Gordon and The Phil Silvers Show. In 1969, he snagged the role of Sam Franklin in The Brady Bunch. As the boyfriend of Alice Nelson on the show, he became a good friend of the Brady family. Not just that, but the character also became the owner of a butcher shop and often delivered meat around the neighborhood.

Over the years, the actor has appeared in various sitcoms. The list includes All in the Family. He also went up the Broadway stage, although his big break in TV only arrived when he joined The Phil Silvers Show to play Corporal Steve Henshaw. Once The Brady Bunch came to an end, he spent his time doing voiceovers for cartoons. At the age of 84, he died of cancer in 2008.
