Kobe Bryant, best known on court as the ‘Black Mamba,’ was one of the finest NBA players, playing his 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers as a shooting guard. His experience, teamwork, and aggressive attitude culminated in five NBA titles, 18 All-Star honors, and two-time NBA final MVP status. He received the 2017 Film Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, Dear Basketball, on retirement. Traveling to a travel basketball game with his daughter, Gianna, their private helicopter crashed fatally in early 2020.
