Fans were upset to hear Daniel Day-Lewis announce his retirement in 2017, since he is considered one of the greatest actors of his generation. It seems Day-Lewis simply lost interest in acting, explaining how he doesn’t feel compelled to take on acting roles anymore. Day-Lewis is now an honorary president of a charity called the Poetry Archive; a UK charity which contains a large selection of British poets reading their work.

Former Arrested Development star Portia de Rossi announced she was taking a break from acting and would only come back in order to reprise her role as Lindsay Bluth on the hit show. De Rossi has been married to talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres since 2008 and now focuses on philanthropy. De Rossi is also a prime supporter of Locks of Love, a charity that provides human-hair wigs at low or no cost to cancer patients or people suffering from alopecia.
