In 2009, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer when he was 54 years old. It was obvious that Russell had not been in the strongest form in his life. The awful death of his parent, though, inspired him to build a healthy lifestyle that involved clean food and daily exercise.

In his everyday life, Chumlee made good food and workout normal activities. Going to the gym and even doing meditation are his favorite types of workout. He not only believes in exercising the body but also by mindfulness and meditation, the mind and spirit.
