In the late 1990s, actress Martina Gedeck became a German-language film star as “Martha” in the movie “Bella Martha”. However, she was already active as an actress in the theater in her eighties. She also made a name for herself in productions such as “Der bewegte Mann”, “Ein Fall für Zwei” and “Die Kommissarin”. The Munich-born actress, who is now 62 years old, is of course not considering retiring just yet. She appeared in the TV series “Oktoberfest” just last year, and today she is also active as an audiobook narrator.

It is not surprising that Katharina Thalbach, who came from a family of theaters, devoted herself to acting from a young age. She appeared in her first film at the age of four and joined the Berliner Ensemble at the age of 15. In the years that followed, she became better known for films such as “The Tin Drum”, “The Manns – A Novel of the Century” and “The Captain of Köpenick”. She was a founding member of the German Film Academy and had a significant influence on the German film industry. She still appears frequently in film, television and theater productions today.
