Born in Berlin in 1944, Margarethe von Trotta spent her childhood in Düsseldorf. After dropping out of several courses of study, she decided to study acting. Nothing was to stand in the way of her career as an actress. When she won the Golden Lion for her film “Die bleierne Zeit” in 1981, she attracted a great deal of attention. It was the first film directed by a woman to win an award. During her professional career, she made and starred in many films, for which she also won many awards. In 2019, she received the Honorary Film Award for her lifetime achievement.

Christiane Hörbiger – 82 years old

The actress Christiane Hörbiger has been around practically her entire life. She was born in Vienna in 1938 and was actually supposed to take over her parents’ confectionery business after finishing business school. However, this failed, allowing Christiane to realize her dream and become an actress. After making her film debut in 1955 in “The Major and the Bulls”, she trained as an actor. Until she stood in front of the camera for the last time in 2019, as she is now in well-deserved retirement, many more films were to be made with her episodes. After all, she was on camera for over 60 years and her life’s work received an award.
