We all remember the epic scene where Lieutenant Dan is saved by Forrest Gump after being injured in war. Lieutenant Dan loses the ability to use his legs and spend the continuity of his life in a wheelchair but in real life, the actor who played him isn’t disabled. When filming he wore a blue fabric over his calves so the digital crew could make look like he was really disabled.

The original bench from Forrest Gump was auctioned for $25,000, which you already know. But did you know that you can actually visit it on your own? This bench was symbolic of the film and there were four made for the movie. Paramount pictures donated one of them to the Savannah History Museum In Savannah Georgia when filming finished.
