The Library of Congress
Each year, the Library of Congress chooses a series of works to preserve for future generations. This includes movies, songs, or artwork. In 2011, they chose Forrest Gump to be preserved. What does this mean exactly? Well, the US National Film Registry keeps it on record for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
