Vertigo
Vertigo is Alfred Hitchcock, referring to a retired police officer who is extremely scared of heights. There is a mysterious vibe to the movie’s plot, and it unfolds perfectly throughout the film’s duration. Thanks to something called a dolly zoom, which changes the perspective from the camera’s perspective, the camerawork makes you feel like you have vertigo while you’re watching it.

Film critic Roger Ebert said it is deeper than most films; about continuity in a lifetime, based on friendship and hope.” Shockingly, despite receiving tons of award nominations, this film was not a hit in theaters. Cinematographer Roger Deakins finished winning the American Society of Cinematographers Award for Outstanding Cinematography Achievement, despite the slow, uphill battle to make viewers love the movie. It was recognized by the National Film Registry 21 years after the film came out.
