As soon as he put the light near the kitten, they saw all kinds of weird, swirling patterns on the skin of the kitten. They also both noticed some kind of half-moon marking that surrounded Ellie’s left eye. Nicole’s husband shone the light on Rosie as well, but it was different. The couple was puzzled. What could have caused those markings on Elli? They had no idea why the UV light was able to pick up on it. “I’m taking her to the vet… first thing tomorrow,” Nicole said.

Throughout the night, Nicole tossed and turned as she could not stop worrying about Elli. Her husband was woken up by her unease, he tried to comfort her, letting her know that everything was going to be ok. But she was hesitant. Nicole could not let the matter go. Maybe it was just her imagination, but she doubted it. From past experience, she knew to trust her instincts. She could not wait any longer, she needed to take Ellie to the vet immediately.
