This homeless war veteran can be found on a wooden stool in Manhattan’s Bowery and Rivington Streets. His friends had given him the nickname “Red.” Red will talk to anyone who will listen, despite his hearing loss. While changing his appearance, Bustos listened to Red.

Red told Bustos about moving to New York in search of a job opportunity that never materialized. As a result, he ended up living on the streets. The man asked Bustos to simply shave his hair off because he didn’t know when he’d get his next haircut. He appears to be in good shape, despite the simple request.
