We can’t deny that Barbara Eden did a great job of portraying the blonde genie, but the truth is that her hair almost cost her the role. The producers of the show wanted to distinguish themselves from a rival show called Bewitched, which starred a blonde actress. However, they simply could not find a better woman for the job than Barbara Eden! This was how she ended up getting the role in the end. If you ask us, they did the right thing since the show simply would not have been the same without her.

The actress did an amazing job as the hilarious and sensual main character. Fans and critics adored her. We are not surprised to hear that she was nominated for two Golden Globes! We have to credit the sexual tension between her and Major Nelson for propelling the show to the heights that it reached, but the wedding in the final season put an end to all of that.
