Did you know that Jeannie was not always a Jeannie? Initially, she was supposed to be a young mortal who turned down the marriage proposal of the Blue Djinn. He decided to turn her into a genie and trapped her in a bottle for her disobedience. Producers later changed the story to say that she came from a family of genies. However, her rejection of the Blue Djinn resulted in her banishment.

His First Success
A lot of his fans probably had no idea that he first made it big on the stage! His success in the New York theater scene was followed by TV roles until he finally earned his big break in I Dream Of Jeannie. He was the son of a Broadway actress called Mary Martin, while his father was a lawyer by the name of Benjamin Hagman. She was in Broadway productions of Peter Pan and The Sound of Music. His training as a theater actor helped him with his screen career.
