Massive Flooding
The ISS was able to take photos of this massive flooding in Thailand’s Mekong River after a Tsunami. The images are useful since they were shared with recovery and relief organizations that can use them to see the extent of the damage and plan on how to allocate rescue resources.

A Strange Phenomenon
By 2019, the capability of the station to take incredible photos has become well-known. That year, however, the then-current ISS crew did more than just come upon a pretty photo: They actually solved a mystery. The crew noticed the strange phenomenon, which is pictured above, and were understandably mystified.
