Dragon scales
The existence of dragons is still a subject of debate among some people, with devout believers claiming that these creatures are not purely figments of the imagination. However, it seems unlikely that such animals actually existed, and if they did, it’s indisputable that they no longer fly across our skies. The situation seems different millions of kilometers away, on Mars. Indeed, one of these enigmatic images of the red planet gives the impression of dragon scales. NASA itself used this terminology to describe the image captured by their reconnaissance probe. However, it appears that this phenomenon is simply the result of erosion. Although NASA is not yet certain how it happened, or what was responsible.

Mars dust devils
Mars and Earth have very distinct planetary characteristics. However, as some of these unusual photographs of Mars reveal, there are remarkable similarities between the two worlds. One example is the presence of dust devils, which can vary considerably in size on both planets. On Earth, these dust devils have been responsible for property damage and, sadly, human death. However, on Mars, a planet seemingly devoid of life, dust devils don’t pose a similar threat. In fact, on Mars, they appear to play a beneficial role, helping to clean the solar panels of the planet’s various rovers. It’s heartening to see that natural phenomena on Mars can sometimes prove more useful than constraining.
