Dismissing The Queen’s Chosen Doctors
As a member of the royal family, you must follow strict protocols. When one of them gives birth, they go to a specific hospital with the Queen’s preferred doctors. Meghan, on the other hand, preferred to defy all of the restrictions and see her own doctors. Meghan’s medical team was led by a female doctor, which makes sense given her feminist beliefs. She did not want the Queen’s squad of “men in suits” since she was more comfortable with her chosen doctors.
Ignoring The Longstanding Birthing Traditions
As previously stated, Meghan prohibited parking at the Frogmore Cottage when the pair moved in. Many sources believe she was preparing for a homebirth. Meghan only wanted those she trusted to participate in the process. Meghan didn’t want to risk press leaks from doctors she didn’t know, and she didn’t want anyone to know she was about to give birth. However, this is contrary to the royal family’s customs. Meghan ultimately did not have a home delivery; instead, she gave birth to her son at London’s Portland Hospital.
