Mosquitoes spread various diseases such as West Nile and Zika. While chickens are not susceptible to these viruses, the presence of the pathogens should show up in their blood test results. If anything appears in their blood work, the employees can then figure out which area of the park requires more attention when it comes to mosquito-busting efforts.

Even though Potter’s efforts live on in Disney’s quest to get rid of mosquitoes, the park is still working to improve the Mosquito Surveillance Program some more. Another thing that the company does is to scientifically test the mosquitoes in an effort to learn more about these insects. This way, Disney will be able to find an even more efficient way to deal with them in the future.
