You might remember Vinnie Johnson as one of the “Bad Boys” of the NBA. During his time with the Detroit Pistons, he earned back-to-back championships in 1989 and 1990. However, he retired and pursued his real calling in 1992. He launched a manufacturing company called Piston Group. The business started small, but its value has since blown up to several million dollars. He continues to work as the CEO. It is amazing to know that he is not only an NBA superstar but a smart businessman as well!

Magic Johnson was the first overall pick in the 1979 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. Before retiring, the said player wore purple and yellow for 13 years. He bravely revealed his HIV status to the world in 1991. Johnson is a proponent of safe sex and HIV/AIDS prevention and is working to dispel the myth that heterosexuals are immune to the disease. He’s a businessman, philanthropist, broadcaster, and motivational speaker, among other things. The Magic Johnson Foundation, his non-profit, raises funds and raises awareness for the disease.
