These days, the tomato is known as a reddish fruit of average size. Scientists conducted a test to see just how different a modern tomato is from the one grown around two centuries in the past. To pull this off, they took a seed from 150 years ago and planted it. After a little while, it grew into a tomato with the color wine or purple. It seemed bigger than the tomatoes of today as well. The old tomato is no longer common, except certain places in Europe still have access to these artifacts.
