The Crying Game (1992)
The massive successful thriller that was set in Northern Ireland included excellent performances. Nightclub singer Dil displayed by Jane Davidson, it is she that’s accountable for the notorious scene that left everyone astounded. IRA volunteer Fergus develops a bond with a British soldier hostage and when he’s murdered, he goes to London to find his girlfriend, Dil. In an essential scene, Dil discloses that she’s transgender and audiences react with a collective double-take.

For all those sharp-eyed Stanley Kubrick fans, the film Passengers drops some serious hints which refer to The Shining. Director Morten Tyldum is supposedly a massive fan of Kubrick and wanted to show the world through his set design. To begin with, the robot-bartender looks very similar to the bartender from The Shining, including the waistcoat and bow-tie. But thas not all, the carpet in the ship’s bar is looking very identical to the hallway carpet in the Overlook Hotel. Well, sotted, fans!
