The British rock band Cream formed in the late 60s and consisted of bassist Jack Bruce, drummer Ginger Baker and legendary guitarist Eric Clapton. They coined the term “supergroup” – a band consisting of successful soloists or members from successful bands. Their alternative approach to rock music caused a sensation.
