Steely Dan
Steely Dan originated from the 70’s rock scene in Los Angeles and is a duo of college buddies who were innovative in their approach to music. Although the duo began as music writers on television, they secretly recorded and released their first studio album “Can’t Buy a Thrill”. Excitingly, this album brought the duo fame with two chart toppers, ‘Do It Again’ and ‘Reelin’ In the Years’.
The Cure
The Cure is a legendary British rock band that formed in the late 70s under the leadership of singer and songwriter Robert Smith. Although the original band members were childhood friends, the members changed often and Smith was the only mainstay. Characterized by genre as gothic rock, The Cure’s songbook reads like an Edgar Allan Poe story. Probably one of the most versatile bands of the 80s, The Cure’s songs are raw, raucous and beautifully chaotic.
