37. Red Hot Chili Peppers
Hardly anyone knows that the band was founded in 1983, as the Red Hot Chili Peppers have only been known since the early 90s. The new line-up with John Frusciante as guitarist already made the Peppers stars back then. A band crisis followed when Frusciante left the band. After reuniting in 1998, they released their most commercially successful album “Californication”.
This was followed by a two-year world tour, further albums, appearances at various well-known festivals and an autobiography. Their album “Stadium Arcadium”, released in 2006, went straight to number 1 in the charts. Today, there is hardly a rock playlist without a hit by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
36. Slipknot
Not everyone likes the dark lyrics and outfits of the heavy metal band Slipknot. Nevertheless, they have had a significant influence on music history over the last 25 years. Even today, the band still has countless fans and they prove time and again that they still have what it takes.
It wasn’t so long ago that Slipknot were voted “Best Band in the World” in 2020. No wonder they are still popular today. Not only have they topped the US Billboard Top 200 charts with their last three albums, but they are also celebrated by their fans for their legendary live performances.
