This 2006 novelized drama portrays how the British Royal Family reacted to the death of Princess Diana in 1997. The hesitations by Buckingham Palace to mourn Diana perceived as a public disaster. However, the Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom takes the responsibility to persuade the Queen to pay tribute and respect to the late Princess of Wales, Helen Mirren stars as Queen Elizabeth II which lead her to win an Academy Award for Best Actress. She was also invited to dinner at Buckingham Palace by the Queen after its release. How amazing is that?

The Royals is set in present-day London. The series premiered back in 2015 and only lasted for 4 seasons. However, this excellent drama tells the story of how the matriarch of a fictional, modern-day royal family struggles with both common and unconventional family issues. Additionally, the story follows the rest of the royal family as their lives are filled with love, sizzling scandals, and of course loads of lavishness. The Royals stars the gorgeous Elizabeth Hurley as well.
