And the brilliant female-directed film, Mary Queen of Scots is no different. For people who love deep history that involves the royals, this is for sure the movie for you. Not only does it feature the amazing Margot Robbie but also tells the tale of two queens of the era, Mary of Scots and Queen Elizabeth I. The pair are famously known for battling each other for the right to England’s crown. The movie comes highly recommend and was also nominated for several awards.

Our list could not ever be complete without including at least one documentary about the royal family. And of course, we needed to include, Royal Family. The British television documentary about the family of Queen Elizabeth II originally aired in June 1969 and is said to originally be Prince Charle’s idea. Fortunately, the film attracted over 30 million viewers in the United Kingdom alone and was then sold around the world and seen by an estimated 350 million people. People were pleasantly surprised to finally catch a glimpse inside the house of the Royal family and learned that they were just like any other regular family.
