The body of the mid-engine, rear-wheel drive Ferrari 308, introduced at the 1975 Paris Motor Show, was initially made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (it later became steel). As long as you weren’t planning on taking more than one person with you – the GTB/GTS models had 90° V8 engines with 5-speed gearboxes, making the 308 an excellent option for any cross-country drive.

With the Apollo 5000GT, International Motor Cars wanted to develop a sports car that would surpass the Ferrari 250 series. Its bodies were hand-built by Intermeccanica and featured a 5.0-liter Buick V8 engine, a 4-speed manual transmission and incredible styling. Buyers could also decide whether to choose a closed fastback model or a sportier convertible.
