Chuck Berry was called “Father of Rock ‘N Roll.” He perfected and re-adapted rock and roll rhythm and blues, developing a style of guitar solos and showy shows that became the basis of the music. Born in St. Louis, he was interested in early music. He started performing with The Johnnie Johnson Trio but got his break when he met singer Muddy Waters. Muddy had him hooked on Chess Music, and Ida Red was his first success, selling over a million records.
Pete Townshend – $105 million

Pete Townshend is the most famous term. The legendary co-founder, The Who. His band career lasted over fifty years, and for the second half of the twentieth century, the band under his leadership became one of music’s most influential voices. He wrote over one hundred songs for The Who’s eleven records, including two rock operas for Tommy and Quadrophenia. He published essays, journals, tables, etc. He started a successful solo career. Doesn’t harm a legendary musician.
