Kurt Cobain was Nirvana’s singer, one of Generation X’s most influential artists. He’s also the lead guitarist of the project. Born in Washington, he formed Aaron Burckhard and Krist Novoselic in 1987. It was in Seattle’s grunge scene. Nirvana signed with DGC and succeeded, mainly via his second album with the song “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Cobain resented media attention, saying his meaning was misconstrued and oversimplified. He’s married to the rocker, Courtney Love.
Walter Becker – $20 million

Steely Dan’s co-songwriter and member, Walter Becker. He also played rock/jazz guitar and bass. He met his co-founder, Donald Fagen, both students of Bard College. They started Steely Dan and transferred to LA. After a good commercial period, Becker also relocated to Hawaii after the split and became a record producer and an English band, China Crisis. In 1993, Fagen reformed Steely Dan.
