Tom Selleck – Basketball
In addition to acting, Tom Selleck excelled as a basketball player thanks to his tall size and great mustache. He participated for the Trojans while on a basketball scholarship at the University of Southern California. He was advised to pursue acting in addition to earning a degree in business administration by a drama teacher. He consequently decided to leave his studies behind and pursue acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. He went on to become one of the most honored actors with roles in shows including “Magnum, P.I.,” “Blue Bloods,” and “Three Men and a Baby.”
Mark Harmon – Football
Tom Harmon, a football player and broadcaster, is the father of Mark Harmon. That he had a successful football career was also no surprise. Several prestigious college football institutions, including UCLA and Oklahoma, extended scholarship offers to him. Harmon decided on UCLA and spent two years as a quarterback for the Bruins. During his senior year, Mark won the National Football Foundation Award for All-Round Excellence. Even though his football career came to an end there, he was more successful as an actor. His most prominent roles are those on “NCIS,” “St. Elsewhere,” and “The West Wing,” for which he was nominated for an Emmy.
