Nicole found out that it was going to be dangerous for her to get pregnant. This devastated her. Once Kevin returned home, he immediately noticed that something was up. “I got home from work and Nicole had that look on her face like something was wrong and I’m never going to forget it. While it was hard to accept that she should not conceive, Nicole was sad to hear it. Despite this, it was too risky to fall pregnant with her condition. She explained, “I was able to conceive, but I wouldn’t be able to have a healthy pregnancy. And it would result in death of myself or the baby.” They did not want to give up on their dreams of having a family no matter what. This is why they looked at their options.
