For the most part, life has not been kind to us. We may remember these celebrities from their early television appearances, but they, too, have their ups and downs. We will all have to face aging, no matter how much we try to avoid it. As a result, we may not appear as attractive as we once did. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder. Even though their appearances have changed, many celebrities have continued to have a successful career in show business. It’s proof that your talent is unaffected by your age. Here are some aging stars who are almost unrecognizable, ranging from Val Kilmer to Johnny Depp!

Val Kilmer Then

Val Kilmer began his acting career on stage before transitioning to film. He made his television debut alongside a teenage Michelle Pfeiffer in an ABC Afterschool Special in 1983. Val Kilmer had starred alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun by the end of the decade, and by the mid-1990s, he was considered serious hot money. He notably beat out INXS’ Michael Hutchence for the role of Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone’s blockbuster film about The Doors. Heat, in which he co-starred with De Niro and Pacino, is widely regarded as his best performance.

Even though some have claimed Val’s waistline has shrunk over the years, we believe he still looks great for his era. Regrettably, he is no longer visible on both large and small screens. After years of gaining weight, he shocked viewers by announcing on Twitter that he had lost weight and was down to 165 pounds. Val’s professional life has come to an end. In reality, he’s been touring as Citizen Twain, a one-man show that he wrote and stars in. He won a Grammy Award for his spoken word work in 2012. Rumors of a Top Gun sequel could also motivate you to get in shape. Val, you look fantastic!
