The Book of Mormon
From South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, came the musical comedy The Book of Mormon. In case, you haven’t seen this hilarious musical, it follows two Mormons who are sent to convert impoverished Ugandans. While locals deal with starvation and AIDS among other challenges, the young men try to persuade them to accept their religion. The musical won nine Tony Awards, and its album became the highest-charting album for musicals in over forty years!

Obviously, we had to mention this musical about two opposing, 1950s street gangs and the forbidden love story. It’s a twist on your classic Romeo and Juliet story. Known for its amazing dances and sophisticated music, the 1957 production was nominated for six Tony Awards. Yes, there’s also a film!
