We’re starting this list off with a rather obvious choice. Michael Vick, at one time, was the dazzling quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons who seemed to re-energize the league in a way not seen for years. Sadly though, before he could firmly remembered as one of the greats, he was arrested and jailed for his part in an illegal dog-fighting ring. The $130 million he had racked up during his playing days was burned through in his legal battles, he even filed for bankruptcy. While he did return to the NFL, it was always as a backup, there’s a rumor that Vick is contemplating fighting for a first place slot instead of just as a back up after watching Tom Brady’s groundbreaking performance at Super Bowl LI.

Chris McAlister
Chris McAlister was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens during the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft, and he played for the Ravens for 10 seasons before playing just one last final season with the New Orleans Saints. McAlister is a 3× Pro Bowl selection, a 2× All-Pro, and has earned one Super Bowl ring (XXXV). His career earnings amounted to something like $62 million but the money didn’t last very long, he even struggled to make child support payments.
